Shiro-chan Sketch Dump

It has been way too long...
seriously.

I don't know what's gotten into me lately, all this never posting anything anymore and all. *sighs* I know how much you guys are wondering what I'm up too and if I've disappeared off the face of the earth and... *smiles sarcastically* Hahaha, yeaahhh-no. Nope.

Oh well. It's summer break! At least I'm posting now!

My sister keeps telling me I should do a sketch dump, so I finally agreed to do it. These are from this week and will give you a little glimpse of what I've been doing lately. ;)

First of all, I should mention *cough* warn you *cough* that this sketch dump is primarily doodles of Toshiro Hitsugaya from Bleach... only'cause he's one of my favorite male anime/manga characters ever. Yes, I know I'm weird that I fangirl obsessively over a short guy with white hair and a title complex who is older than your grandma.

This came about after I wrote a little poem for school in which I ended up killing poor Shiro-chan... (and the entire 10th division really...o_o) Aaanyway. The girls hanging on him are Momo, (left), a childhood friend that has feelings for Toshiro, and Trixie, (right) my OC.

Speaking of OCs...
I discovered Trixie likes to cosplay! She discovered this fact when we went to Comicon.
This is her in her shinigami uniform. (*whispers* She really thinks she's a shinigami too, but don't tell her she otherwise, she won't listen...)

Since our internet has been restricted during school hours, my creative brain is constantly active... which means I've been drawing on sticky-notes or anything else within arms' reach...

(Yes, still Toshiro...)

And a little comic I drew randomly the other day:

Question: Are you and Momo in a Relationship? :3
Haha... yeah right. I think you might have to rethink that a little more, Tohsiro. ;]

Okay, I should stop there. Oh? You want some more? I have some more!
*dodges tomato*
You don't? But I do ha-
*dodges watermelon*
Hey! Shiro-chan's favorite food!
*ducks and narrowly misses zanpakto flung at face*
Toshiro: *yelling from somewhere nearby* STOP CALLING ME THAT STUPID NICKNAME!!
*mumbles* You let Momo call you that... *huffs*
Fine then, Captain Hitsugaya. I'll get off now.

.....

Man. You guys must think I'm crazy. Heck, I think I'm crazy! So I guess we're all good here. ;]

Until next time!

Haha... I'm smiling like a loon right now. (Ahhh, easily excited...)

Maximum Ride: Ari

Hello again world!
I am so happy! The latest Maximum Ride manga (vol. 7) came out last month! I think I am obsessed with NaRae Lee's style of artwork...it's beautiful!!!

Constantly, I am trying to draw the characters in her books in the hopes that, one day, I'll be able to draw like her on my own. Example:

This young man is Ari.

He has a tough past that I don't want to get into right now, but this is actually one of the only, (if no only), times I think he truly smiles. That's why I loved his expression so much. It's a look of innocent, unforeseen happiness. Isn't he cute?!?
At the beginning of the series, however, I must admit I hated Ari... he was horrible. But now, I finally started liking him a bit. T-T ... R.I.P. Ari.

I like how this drawing turned out. (It actually fills my entire 8.5 by 11 inch sketchbook sheet and continues a bit onto the page next to it with his jacket and shoulder.) Drawing his hair was a lot of fun. ^_^

*Sigh* I wish I could draw like this from memory...

Well, this artist is tired out.
Ciao!

A quick sketch

Ugh. High school, kill me now. Please.
JK...
Anyway. My apologies for the long, (in my opinion), absence. I haven't been able to just sit and draw for over a week, and my SDDS* is showing it's weird face again... ;)

Tonight, I couldn't stand it any longer: I had to draw! So I sketched the following picture in about 5 minutes. Any of you recognize this character? I you do, I love you! Those who don't: It's (supposed to be) Hitsugaya Toshiro from Bleach. (Chpt. 553)

Doesn't he look tired too? -_-
*Sigh*
Fighting Quincies will take a lot out of a guy... the same as school-overload can take it out of a girl... no, not really. He totally deserves some R&R after that chapter! Tite Kubo, you better not kill my dear Toshiro!

Well, homework is yet unfinished, so ciao for now.

*I almost forgot! (Link) Scroll to bottom of post for explanation. :3

More Fullmetal Alchemist...

My sister and I are watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, so I've been re-reading the FMA manga. Ooohhh! It is sooo goood!! *squeals*
Since I already posted once on FMA (link), I won't go expatiating on the story and such...but Oh! the drama! the characters! the plot!
*cough* Sorry... over excited otaku here. ;)

...And, I have been drawing FMA characters a lot lately...

My chibi of Winry, Edward's "girlie-friend" (as Envy calls her). She and Ed are so cute together!

Roy x Riza chibi
(This couple is perfect for each other. I just wish they would admit it! Ugh. Not one of my best chibis, but awesome pairing.) XD

Some doodles I did of May Chang (top), Edward Elric (right), and Alphonse Elric (left) in my chemistry notebook. I know, I am highly distracted...

*Sigh* I still need to draw a chibi of Ed x Winry, or maybe an original fan art. :3

Until next time!

Bleach!

Today's post manga: Bleach, by Tite Kubo.
Because I don't want to write a summary, I'm going to give you the link to read it somewhere else...

I absolutely love Kubo's drawing style, (which greatly improves as the series progresses). I'm constantly studying the pages, trying to catch every little detail about certain expressions, poses and such. ;)

Rukia Kuchiki and Ichigo Kurosaki
I drew her eyes kind of weird in this one...oh well.

I forget who said this (I think it was Rukia), but this quote really stood out to me:
"We stand in awe before that which can not be seen... And we respect, with every fiber, that which cannot be explained."
You see, that's kind of how I see God. He is invisible to the human eye, but I still see His hand through small, everyday things such as helping me get a school project done, or protecting me when I pull too wide into an intersection. For these reasons (and countless others) I stand in awe of Him.

Sometimes, God chooses to do things in our lives that we don't expect. It may leave you sitting there, wondering "Why God? Why me?", or you may have have your socks blown off! (A favorite term of my little sisters.) Either way, that "unexplainable situation" is something that God has brought about for some greater purpose that we might not know yet.

I think I'm saying this because, right now, my family is facing a situation that is very...difficult. I have no idea what God has in store for me, but whatever it is, I want to respect His decision and trust that His plan is what's best for me. Even if I don't think so. ;)

And now, back to Bleach:
Byakuya Kuchiki
A picture of Byakuya Kuchiki for a friend of mine... though I just realized how it looks like he's wearing a hat....lol.

!!!!!HITSUGAYA!!!!!
(Can you tell he's my favorite character?)
That picture's a little weird (I think it's his face), so here's a better (?) one:
Hitsugaya Toshiro
I don't what the true spelling of his name is...is it Toushirou or ToshiroAnyone know? I've seen it both ways, but the latter more often.

The eyes of Bleach, though not even close to all...
(Drawn on my Dad's tablet on the way to Texas. That means they were all drawn in the car...*headache*)

Eyes (from left to right):
Top - Orihime Inoue, Uryu Ishida
Top middle - Ichigo Kurosaki...
Ugh. I should have numbered them. Comment if you want to know a certain eye. ;)

The final arc is coming to a close soon...TToTT ...Nooooooo!
Ciao for now!

Fullmetal Alchemist

"A lesson without pain is meaningless. That's because no one can gain without sacrificing something. But by enduring that pain and overcoming it, he shall obtain a powerful, unmatched heart... A Fullmetal Heart."
~Edward Elric

Fullmetal Alchemist has got to be my favorite manga/anime...ever. I don't know why I haven't drawn or posted about FMA yet, probably because, oh, I don't know.
Anyway, the manga is about two brothers, Edward and Alphonse, who are searching for the legendary Philosopher's Stone. They had an interest in alchemy from even when they were small. When their mother died, the boys attempted to bring her back through alchemy. Alas, the transmutation did not work, and each boy payed a terrible price: Alphonse (the younger brother more commonly called Al) lost his entire body, and Edward (Ed) lost his left leg. In desperation, Ed sacrificed his right arm in a second transmutation to bind Alphonse's soul to a nearby suit of armor. Ed's childhood friend and automail mechanic, Winry,  made an automail (kind of like a high-tech prosthetic) arm and leg for him.
Edward soon became a state alchemist, working for  the government, in order to search for the philosopher's stone that could restore his and Al's bodies. (Al's body is now a suit of armor that can talk and move about, even though it's empty.) The brothers begin to travel the country, searching, and never wavering in their determination or their goal.
And that's just the beginning of their story...

I would recommend it to any and all manga fans 13 and up (because of violence).

These are the FMA fan art I drew. I'm sorry, I didn't draw Al because I have a hard time drawing armor...
Awwwww! Don't you just love Ed's smile?

This mini comic should make sense to FMA fans. If you're not, all you need to know is that Al has a soft heart for stray cats... ;) lol

I want to include a few of my favorite FMA quotes before I close.
[To Envy] "Now I see. You're Jealous. You're jealous of humans, aren't you? According to you, humans are supposed to be a lot weaker than Homunculi. And yet, even if they get discouraged after being beaten, and even if they get close to falling down after losing their paths, they continue to get up and fight. Everyone around them helps them get back up. And you're envious of that."  -Ed

"It's true, I don't have a body, but I'm here. This is my punishment for setting foot on holy ground where mortals are forbidden. We made a mistake, Rose, and we're paying for it."  -Al

And some funnies...
"It was just a rebound! Don't make a big deal over one or two arms!"  -Ed

"Oh this is perfect! Now my arm's fallen off too! Today is a terrible day!"  -Al

Haha! That was pretty long...It'll be shorter next time. ;)

Naruto, Part 5

"To become Hokage* is my dream!"
*(Hokage: (Hoe-KAA-gay) Word often used in Naruto series. Hokage is highest and strongest ninja in Konoha village. This word consists of 2 modules: "Ho" which means "fire", and "kage" means "shadow".)

This time, it's Naruto Uzamaki! He's the "Show-off, Hyper-active, Number-one-loudest-ninja-in-the-Village"...according to Kakashi anyway.  He is known for his overwhelming stamina, sometimes that seems beyond all odds. At first, Naruto was a social outcast in his village, because (unknown to him) he had the Nine-Tailed demon Fox sealed inside him. He learned to control the Nine-Tail's chakra, however, with the training from numerous senseis. Naruto continually faces many challenging missions with Team 7.
His greatest rival and best friend is Sasuke Uchiha. Sakura Haruno is his crush. (Much to her annoyance...)
Because I've had this post in "draft" form for so long, I've gotten a little tired of it and just want to post it. So it will be shorter than my previous Naruto posts...

The full page...
(This time, I'm putting my favorite Naruto quotes with the pictures.)

"My name is Uzumaki Naruto. I like ramen. I hate the three minutes you have to wait while the water boils. And my dream is to one day become a Hokage. Then everyone will have to respect me at last."
Idiotically happy...you can't help but smile too!

"I won't run away anymore... I won't go back on my word... That is my ninja way!"
Just some fun facial expressions

"If he rips my arms off, I'll kick him to death. If he rips my legs off, I'll bite him to death! If he rips my head off, I'll stare him to death! And if he gouges out my eyes, I'll curse him from beyond the grave..!"
'nuff said.
"I am strong because I have people to protect."
Never say die.

Because I only drew him once, I decided to put Shikamaru in this post. I think he looks more handsome (and matured) after the two year time skip, so I drew him from there. One of my favorite characters, though not my favorite drawing...:).

I think I drew his feet are kinda weird...aw well. :)

Hope you've enjoyed my Naruto fan art!
Adios amigos...

Naruto, Part 4

I hope you're not getting to tired of Naruto...
...'cause here's part 4.
Okay, I know she's hated by a lot of Naruto fans, but I think Sakura Haruno deserves a little more respect than she gets. She was a bit Sasuke-crazy when first introduced, but it was a sweet and innocent crush. I think she's definitely mellowed out now. (After the two-year time skip.)
A talented and hardworking ninja, Sakura was the best in the academy, academically speaking. She was placed in Team 7 after graduating the exams, and began training under Kakashi Hataki with Naruto and Sasuke. After innumerable dangerous missions and fun times, troubles broke Team 7 apart when Sasuke left the Village. Sakura felt as if she could have stopped him, and vowed that she would help Naruto bring him back. She then trains under the only female Hokage, Tsunade, as a medical ninja. Sakura decides to never back down...convince Sasuke to return, or be the one to take his life.

These compilations are from the earlier books.

Close ups...
"A smile is the easiest way out of a difficult situation."
Sakura's facial features are a little off in this one...I think her head's to thin. She has definitely been the hardest so far.
(And yes, her forehead is supposed to be larger than usual.)

Uh oh. She's mad...

A look of absolute terror
(Fun expression...)

This one was actually more of an original than the others. It was compiled from a Lot of different pics of her...

"All I've been doing is watching you two from behind... Now, get a good look at MY back!"
Looove this one!

I signed my work this time, in tiny letters.
Naruto next. (It's about time!)
Ciao for now.

Naruto, Part 3

Gaara.
(Pronounced...like it's read-Gar ra)
This guy's got to be one of my favorite Naruto characters, but it took a while before I really liked him.
When he was first introduced, Gaara was a heartless, ruthless, and dangerous boy from the Village of the Sand. His earlier years were ones of pain. Not physical pain, but the pain of a "wounded heart". His father the Kazekage tried to kill him 6 times, but each assassination attempt failed because of his "ultimate shield", the "living" sand that protects him. (As the host of Shukaku, Gaara possesses the ability to manipulate sand.) He came to believe that his existence was only to kill.
During the Chunin Exam Finals, however, he fought Team 7 (Sasuke, Naruto, and Sakura). Sasuke and Sakura were soon down for the count, and Naruto became enraged. The battle was long and by the end of it, each boy was wounded and completely worn out. Still, Naruto swore with the last of his strength "I won't let you hurt the people important to me...even if you try to kill them...I will stop you." Gaara realizes what makes Naruto and the others so strong, even willing to lay down their lives for each other, is love. Slowly, that realization begins to change his heart...
He becomes one of the best characters, IMHO. :)

These drawings are mostly from compilations of books 4-9, so he hasn't had a change of heart yet. Still, he's pretty cool and a lot of fun to draw!

The full page:

My Favorite Gaara quotes:

"One day I'd like to become something precious to others."

*to Naruto* "I think of you as a friend. I used to think "friend" was just another word... Nothing more, nothing less. But when I met you, I realized what was important was the word's meaning."

"This is where it all starts for me. Starting with this small bond. I too want to become someone who is needed, instead of a weapon that is feared. And as the Kazekage of the Sand."

Closer ups:
I wonder how heavy that gourd of sand is?

Gaara's "don't mess with me face"...
wait, isn't that his usual expression?

Gaara of the Sand, a quiet yet deadly ninja.

A face of fierce hurt and longing...and determination.
(This is personally my favorite view.)

I just realized that I keep forgetting to sign my work...I'll make sure to next time.
Anyway, adios amigos!

Naruto, Part 2

It's Sasuke!!!
Sasuke Uchiha (pronounced: sauce-kay oo-CHEE-ha). Another Naruto character...and one of the most confusing too.
Sasuke is a character you both love and hate. Though his outward appearance may be cool, intelligent, and aloof, Sasuke carries a huge weight. When he was only a child, his whole clan was murdered by his brother Itachi. Itachi left only the young Sasuke alive, telling him "If you want to kill me, despise me, hate me, and live in an unsightly way...Run, and cling to life, and then some day, when you have the same eyes I do, come before me." (*shiver*) From that moment on, Sasuke's only goal in life was revenge. That thirst for revenge (and more power to achieve it) destroyed him...
I'm a little more than halfway through the manga, so I'm hoping Sasuke eventually turns good again and comes back to the Leaf Village... but now I'm wondering if he would even be able to set foot in his home town without being killed for betrayal. Oh Sasuke! Your friends still believe there is a sliver of light left in that closed heart of yours...they're searching for you!

The full sketchbook page...

And, (same as last time), my favorite Sasuke quotes:

"My name is Sasuke Uchiha. I hate a lot of things, and I don't particularly like anything. What I have is not a dream, because I will make it a reality. I'm going to restore my clan, and kill a certain somebody."

"When one loves... there's also the risk of hate..."

*To Naruto* "Just shut up for once! What the hell do you know about it?! It's not like you ever had a family in the first place! You were on your own right from the beginning, what makes you think you know anything about it?! Huh?! I'm suffering now because I had those ties, how on earth could you possibly understand, what it feels like to lose all that?!"

Profile

Such a smug expression...

(Left side) The blood trait of the Uchiha clan: Sharingan!
(Right side) The Uchiha clan crest on Sasuke's clothing.

Gaara of the Sand in the next post. Ciao for now.

Naruto, Part 1

Lately, I have a been a bit addicted to Naruto manga. But I think most all manga otakus are at some point, right? ;) Just kidding.
Well, I've been drawing Naruto characters like crazy and am going to post each one separately. Today, it's Kakashi Hatake. He's one of my favorites. His regular expression is  bored, but he's a strong, fierce, and loyal shinobi (ninja) when those he cares about are threatened. He's relatively easy to draw too, because you don't have to draw half his face. And no one knows what is under the mask...
Ha ha! Enjoy.

The full page

My favorite Kakashi quotes:

"Oh... me? My name is Kakashi Hatake. What I like... I don't feel like telling you that. My dreams for the future..hmm... never really thought about that..as for my hobbies... well I have a lot of hobbies."

"Those in the ninja world who break the rules are scum, that's true....but those who abandon their friends.. are lower than scum."

"Hey guys, sorry I'm late, I'm afraid I got lost on the path of life."

*To Pain* "The people from this village are different from your average village. Even if it means dying, there's not a single one of us, who would sell out a comrade."

...and the close-ups...

What a disinterested expression...

My favorite...Chidori!

Kakashi reading, like always...

The Sharingan eye.

Sasuke's next. Ciao for now!

A quick word: While Naruto is a fun and engaging series, there are some things to look out for-the most prominent definitely being the violence. Naruto is a ninja tale, and ninjas are warriors, mind you, so it can be quite bloody sometimes. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone under 13. (Also, if you are reading it online, watch out for heavy language. The paperback English version is cleaned up a lot, though.)

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to the World!!!

^^....My Easter drawing....^^

Yeah, yeah, they're cute and all, but those bunnies and eggs and candy are not the real reasons behind the celebration of Easter. You want to know the true meaning of Easter? Keep reading...

"For all [we humans] have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)
God wants us to be in Heaven with Him, but that can't happen when we are bound by sin. So...
"For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son,[to die for us], so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
God's son, Jesus Christ, died for us. His death, the death of one who is sinless, is the price of salvation. He was crucified on a cross and was buried in a tomb. A huge stone was rolled across the tomb's entrance.
"Now, what good is a dead man?" I hear some asking.
The answer: no good! But Jesus Christ didn't stay dead...HE ROSE AGAIN!

That's the reason we have to celebrate!

Have a joyous Easter!
